Picanha is a cut of beef that is popular in Tucumán, a north Argentinian province (which is it’s origin), and in Portugal and Brazil. It isn’t known very well around North America, which makes it even sweeter to showcase at your next BBQ!
Picanha tastes very similar to a sirloin. It’s crazy tender and juicy. The fat cap on this cut makes it perfect for a wood fire grill or if you don’t quite have the time, oven roasting this cut creates one amazing meal experience as well! The fat layer on the picanha holds in all the unique flavor. A triangular piece of beef, with the tip being super tender.
